What is density? Density is the measurement of how tightly a material is packed together. It is defined as the mass per unit volume. Density Symbol: D or ρ Density Formula: ρ = m/V, where ρ is the density, m is the mass of the object and V is the volume of the object. We get density from a liquid raw material or a finished good product that is made up in a production department. All you need to perform is to get a 5ML syringe for injecting the sample into the machine, Acetone, and petroleum ether for cleaning to perform the next sample for density. The Results of the before-testing sample and now-testing sample have to be within the tolerance of 1 percent. This procedure performs in the quality control lab. After getting the results to report it to the software and also in the files if it is raw material then report it to the raw material file or if it finishes a good product then write down the report and the remarks in the finished good product file.
- Gently turn on the Anton paar DMA 1001 machine > Home Screen appears > Click on Measurement > Put the identification name it can be anything like batch no, drum number, etc for density.
- Get a syringe > Fill all the chemical in, for testing.
- After filling> Click on Fill your sample in the measurement cell box.
- Inject the syringe in machine > and put all the chemicals into the machine.
- After pouring > Click on the Tick button.
- Now Click on Measure dialog > Now wait for two to three minutes.
- The result will appear on the screen > Write down the Density number for remembering > Click on Done.
- Now we have to clean the pipe for the next sample density > Get a new syringe and pour the petroleum ether (P.E) first in the syringe > Inject the syringe of P.E and fill it > after the poured process is complete eject the syringe > inject the pipe of Air out.
- Click on the Cleaning option on the screen > Now click on the Air Pump dialog box.
- After completion > pull out the pipe.
- Get a new syringe and pour the acetone (A) into the syringe > inject and fill it in the machine > after pouring completely > eject the syringe > Inject the Air out pipe > Click on the Cleaning option on the screen > after completion.
- You are good to go for the test of another one.
How To Report:
- Firstly login to FRM of EXT Lab > Go to Density Log > Click on Density* search box > put the density of the product > Click on Drum No search box > Put the drum number > Click on Create.
- Now log in to GC Lab FRM > Go to Density Log Report > Click on percentage box > Write there 1 > Click on Drum No box > Put the drum number there > Now click on Report > Confirm the correct density in the box after clicking report > The screen shows you three types of color written in the form number ( Green for high, Red for low and blue for normal).
- Your next move is to write down manually the result if it is a finish good product test then write down in the file of Compound file we say, or we can say Density approved file or if it is a raw material product test write report in CDL file or we say raw material file.
